Location,
location, location....
The
club is situated at the foot of the sperrins with the river foyle
to the north. Neighbouring clubs include Glenelly, Owen Roe's and Strabane.
The red marks
on the map below indicate the location of the clubs pitches.
Clann
na nGael are in the enviable position of having two Football grounds
as a result of the amalgamation of the two previous clubs in the
area.
One
of the GAA Grounds is located on the south side of the village of
Dunnamanagh, ten miles east of Strabane.
The clubs other pitch development is located in the settlement of
Aughabrack, Lisnaragh Road. The road follows a general line of an
escarpment ridge with steep falls to the southwest towards the river
valleys of Burn Dennet and the Inver Burn which in turn are enclosed
by the open moorland hills of the Sperrin mountains.
The hamlet of
Aughabrack lies within the designated Sperrins Area of ‘Outstanding
Natural Beauty’.
Aughabrack is
now a thriving rural area with great community spirit and a growing
population. It is only a stones throw away from the border town
of Lifford and only 20 miles north of Omagh town where Tyrone stage
all their home games.
Other clubs can be mapped using the club locator on the new Tyrone GAA web site
